Peter Onovo
Peter Onovo moved from Nigeria to Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his siblings when he was in his teens and graduated from James Cardinal Mcguigan Catholic High School with an honor award specifically in arts subject. He is a passionate individual that has always loved the arts. Peter is currently enrolled into the Fine Arts Studio program at Centennial College to continue his journey in the fine arts. He has exhibited at the Urban gallery. Peter’s work is inspired by nature, colours and his native heritage, which is West Africa my fatherland.
My work is inspired by a variety of things, which are color, 3D elements, past memory, nature, animal, and figure. Sometimes I paint from memories, constructing and trying new things as I go, searching for essence and this relentless pursuit of beauty. Most of my recent paintings are about making connections with identity crisis in the visual arts field; exploring new ideas, mediums, and styles.
