I am a 22 year old Turkish artist. I’ve been in Canada for 5 years and I studying Fine Arts in Centennial College. I draw and paint from my early ages, and wouldn’t imagine a life without art, and wouldn’t wish to live in it. I made my first oil painting when I was 8 years old. My artworks published couple of times in a socialist magazine when I was 17. The first art show I had, called ‘Syzygy”, was in Urban Gallery in 2019 with my Centennial College classmates. This is my second art show, called “Waunck” in Artist Network Gallery, again with my talented classmates :)

I see art as a way of opening myself to people. I like to talk, but words may be meaningless sometimes, and it fails you. Art is something that would never fail me, I know that it will stay with me forever. With art, I learn to leave the real world behind me, and I learn to lose and gain the control. I use shapes, colours and strong lines in my artworks. I usually do self portraits, that seems nothing like me, but in so many other ways, looking like me. I am a woman who lives in her dreams and having a hard time accepting the real world, but with art by my side, I can live in my dreams, and people can see.
