Ms. Seventikidis is a passionate artist currently enrolled in The Fine Arts Program at Centennial College. She is also a cancer survivor. For her, working with her hands is more than just a way of expressing herself. Creating images inspired by her inner demons and desires for “calm”, Alexandra depicts the complications of life through colour, texture, and movement. She takes her pains and creates art pieces that the audience can reflect and empathize with. It is also a means for her to share her positive energy with others who are engaged in a struggle.

Alexandra has received awards for her creations and has had her work exhibited in The Hospital for Sick Kids and several galleries. Above and beyond her studies, Alexandra is actively immersed in extra-curricular activities such as the program student council and support groups within her community.

My art is heavily influenced by my personal experience with mental health and chronic pain. It is an outlet for me to express all the good and bad in my life. I use a very straightforward and blunt approach in my art process as well as the message I want to convey with viewers. Bold colours, texture, and heavy stokes.

My art represents my emotions and lays everything out for people to see and interpret in their own way. A look through someone else's perspective of every day life, living in pain, and how they cope. My dark struggles are a huge part of who I am and I want to express it instead of caving to what I think society will want to see. Beauty is found in many things. So this is the good, the bad, the ugly, and beautiful truth of my life.
